Welcome to Birch Creek Trading
What is the purpose of this blog? Namely, to provide an outlet to show how, why, what and when I trade as part of my private trading business.
The trades and performance results I publish are real (although I won't discuss the dollar amount equity behind them, but be aware I require enough of a return to make a living) - this is not a test, paper trading or talking up the market or sounding out ideas.
I am not a day trader, although I may make some intra-day trades if they become available. My main focus is what I call "Monthly Position Trading", whereby positions are held overnight, usually for up to 4 weeks on average.
I have created an "Essential Reading" section of the blog, that outlines my Trading Plan, How to Identify Price Action - and assign probability of success, what Strategies to consider, Risk and Capital Management and why I only focus on 7 securities.
I will also publish my percentage performance results, usually at the end of each month.
Although I conduct my trading business through a discretionary family trust, I also have a Self-Managed Super Fund through which I conduct similar trades, but also some investment ideas. I hope to touch on this in the time ahead, as super provides different challenges, particularly in the use of leverage and franking credits to enhance returns. Be aware though, I am less than 40 years old and have a very aggressive accumulation bias to superannuation!
Again, welcome and thanks for reading!
